Texas Rowing For All has partnered with Rehab Without Walls to provide adaptive rowing lessons to their patients.  TRFA's adaptive coaches and volunteers work with each person to give a rowing experience to their recovery.

The Head of the Colorado (PumpkinHead Regatta) is held annually on the last Saturday of October. ARC has been hosting this regatta since the mid-1980's. 2017 marks the 33rd Annual PumpkinHead Regatta.

This 4,000 meter head race on Lady Bird Lake in Austin, Texas offers events for the following: junior, collegiate, open, adaptive and masters rowers; single kayaks, and Stand Up Paddle boards.

The 2017 Course will row through three of the seven bridges on Lady Bird Lake. It starts at the Stevie Ray Vaughn statue and travels through the bridges eastward. The turns are all gradual and there are lots of great spectator locations on the bridges, near the start, at Festival Beach Park, and on the boardwalk.

Heart of Texas Regatta

Heart of Texas Regatta

The Heart of Texas, A USRowing Nationally Recognized Regatta is held annually in early March, making it one of the first sprint regattas of the spring. Austin Rowing Club has been host to the Heart of Texas Regatta since 1983 when the race was primarily for visiting college crews. The event has grown to include Masters, Open and Junior events. Held on a seven lane, fully buoyed 1,000 meter course and state-of-the-art starting platform. Over 800 entries competed in the 2015 regatta for a total of over 1,500 competitors.

!! IMPORTANT !! All participating athletes must be at least a Basic member with an electronically signed USRowing waiver for their insurance to be active and they must pay the $5.75 administrative fee. Access to their waiver can be found in their individual member account at https://membership.usrowing.org.

By bike: bike racks are provided in the park and storage is available at the venue tent; bring your lock. Austin Bike Map

Trailer parking: please see the overview and detail maps of trailer parking.  Trailers shall be parked in a westbound orientation on Chicon Street.

Venue parking: limited parking is available within one block of 1600 Nash Hernandez Senior Road, along the south side of Nash Hernandez Sr. and where available on Chicon and Comal. All visitors must honor traffic cones, barriers and No Parking signs or risk ticketing or towing.

Austin Rowing Club recommends competitors and fans stay at the Holiday Inn Lady Bird Lake (this link will give access to special group rates). This Holiday Inn is a short walk to the race course. Please contact hotel staff at 1-512-634-1274 for team sales.

CAMP KAYAK FOR KIDS AND YOUNG ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES

Who: This fun week-long day camp offers kids and young adults (ages 8 and up) a great summer outdoor experience on and around Austin’s Lady Bird Lake. Staff will consist of counselors and instructors who have first-hand experience working with young people with disabilities. Our staff employ best practices working with people with disabilities, and are knowledgeable regarding safety and adaptive sports. Staffing ratio is one staff member for every four campers or less. Each week of Camp Kayak is capped at 16 campers.

What: Paddling (no experience necessary/adapted), Circle Communications, Splash Games, River Ecology, Wading & Swimming, Barton Creek Adventures, Stand Up Paddling, Making Friends, Teamwork, and Having Fun!

When: 2nd Session: July 20-24 9:00AM-12:00 Noon

Cost: $195.00 per week. Camp will fill FAST!! Camp fee must be paid by June 26, 2015 for the 2nd Session.

Where: Camp will be based out of the Texas Rowing Center, which is located directly behind Austin High School on the north shore of the Hike & Bike Trail of Lady Bird Lake, just east of the Mopac pedestrian bridge.
